Spawning Edit

Natural generation Edit

Maggots spawn on grass blocks at light levels of 9 or more with at least 1 block space above. They often spawn in groups of 4 during world generation.

Undead horses and undead wyverns Edit

One or several maggots will spawn in the place of tamed undead horses and undead wyverns upon death.

Maggots are very small mobs which are creamy-white in color. They have no legs and no wings, and have small black eyes.

Drops Edit

Maggots drop 0-2 slimeballs when killed. They also drop 1–3 experience when killed by a player or tamed wolf.

Behavior Edit

Maggots wander around aimlessly, avoiding cliffs high enough to cause fall damage, and staying out of water. Like snails, maggots are very slow mobs. Unlike other insects, maggots can't fly, and only dwell on the ground.

Since maggots are passive, slow-moving and cannot fly, this makes them vulnerable and defenceless against attacks from larger mobs, such as big cats.
