Template:InfoboxMob A Silver Skeleton is a fast hostile mob that will attack the player/s on sight. They spawn at night and in dark places, alongside other hostile mobs.

Silver Skeletons, like vanilla Minecraft Skeletons, drop Bones when killed. They have a small chance to drop their Silver Skeleton Sword. Sometimes they may drop more than one sword.

Behavior

They make a bone rattling sound when moving and they about are as fast as Wither Skeletons. When chasing the player, it can sprint and outrun them. They also wield two Silver Skeleton Swords. This Sword can be used to kill Werewolves more effectively than other weapons.

Silver Skeletons will take damage from Splash Potions of Healing like other undead mobs, and they also burn in sunlight.

Strategy

Because Silver Skeletons are very fast and can keep up at your pace, the best attack strategy would be shooting them from afar on top of a pillar of blocks. If you lack the Bow, however, when you encounter one, any sword will work. Iron or better are recommended. A Diamond sword will finish them off with about four hits. It should be advised to keep your distance and to move back a few blocks when dealing with Silver Skeletons if you have a sword or another melee weapon.

When killed, Silver Skeletons have a chance to drop a Silver Skeleton Sword, which is a powerful sword, and it is extremely effective against Werewolves. It can kill a Werewolf in just a few hits, but on other mobs, it deals about 5.5 hearts of damage (in other versions, it does 1 damage to other mobs). Unfortunately, it has a low durability, like Golden Swords. You can enchant it with Unbreaking to increase its durability. You can also repair it at an Anvil, although it costs a lot of experience points.

Trivia

  • Even though Silver Skeletons carry two Silver Swords, they only drop one of their swords upon death, although sometimes they can drop more than one.
