Black Bear

Spawning

Black bears can be found in the Overworld in Plains, Taiga, Forest and Extreme Hills biomes.

Drops

Black bears have a chance to drop 1-2 Hide when killed.

Behavior

Black bears are neutral, and will attack the player if provoked or hungry. They will also attack other mobs, such as Cows, Sheep, Foxes and Turkeys.

v5.2.0 DEV - Bears will check spawning surroundings, if within 12 blocks of Sugar Canes, it will become a Panda. If the biome where the bear is spawning has the word bamboo in its name, it will also be a Panda.

Trivia

• The Black bear has a black coat (as the name suggests) as opposed to the Grizzly bear's brown coat.
